Take the children to Colchester Zoo, 17 miles away, and the town’s castle, 11.5 miles away. The picturesque village of St Osyth is just 2.9 miles away, popular with visitors to see the stunning 12th century, Grade I listed priory.

A king-size bedroom, with beds that can also be arranged as singles by request, is on the left, together with the impressive family shower room. The immaculate accommodation then opens up to reveal a chic country kitchen/diner, with plenty of room to store and prepare the Essex produce you have sourced on your excursions. Open the table by the window in here to accommodate up to four people. The lounge, where glass doors to the garden can be pulled back on sunny days, is beyond the kitchen/diner. Here you can sink back into the brown leather sofa to watch the Smart TV with the addition of Sky TV, read your books or chat about your day. Climb the stairs to the mezzanine level above the lounge to find your second king-size bedroom. Here a glass door and Juliet balcony overlook the garden and countryside.
