It benefits from a local shop and bar, and the village of Tomintoul is just 17 miles to the west. For those who enjoy outdoor activities the Lecht Ski Centre is only 10 miles away and Glenlivet Mountain Bike Trails just 20 miles. Also within easy reach is Balmoral Castle and the villages of Braemar and Ballater in Royal Deeside (20 miles). All of the villages enjoy local Highland games throughout the summer period. Film buffs will appreciate that many parts of this region have been used as film locations including this estate which featured in Mary Queen of Scots.
