Situated just a short walk from the sandy dunes of Brittas Bay beach, on Ireland’s sunny East coast, these lovely self catering holiday cottages are perfect for family summer holidays, with on site tennis courts and a football pitch. Brittas Bay has a grocery store open all year round and there is a lovely cafe called Bay Cafe both located in the heart of Brittas Bay beside the church and school. The cafe is open seven days a week from April to September for breakfast and lunch. These holiday homes are 12km south of Wicklow Town, which has a lovely selection of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. Wicklow Bowl and Kidzone located on the outskirts of the town is a great way to spend time with family or friends. Blainroe Golf Club is just 3.5km south of Wicklow Town, its cliff top location affords some spectacular views of the Irish Sea. This is a 18 Hole, Par 72 Course and is now recognised as one of the finest coastal parkland golf courses in the south-east of Ireland. The European Club is world class links course was designed by Pat Ruddy and is located just south of Brittas Bay, it features sweeping sea views from nineteen of the twenty holes. These detached coastal holiday cottages are traditional in style with shared gardens. Each of the 3 bedroom holiday cottages has an open plan kitchen and dining area. The living room and family bathroom are all located on the ground floor. On the first floor there is 1 ensuite double bedroom and 2 twin bedrooms. Away from the coast, there are a wide variety of cultural and heritage sites in Wicklow including Avondale House & Gardens, the monastic site at Glendalough, Greenan Farm Museum & Maze, and the world famous Powerscourt House & Gardens and Mount Usher Gardens. For the more adventurous, the area has a great selection of outdoor activities to offer including horse riding, golf, surfing and the Wicklow Way, a wonderful walking route through the Wicklow Hills from South Dublin to Carlow. For another fantastic day out venture to Splash Valley, a new aqua-park which opened in Hidden Valley Holiday Park in Rathdrum in County Wicklow. The 1,800-square-metre park includes some 30 obstacles arranged around a small, manmade lake. Splash Valley is open to day-visitors, with hour-long slots priced at €20 for adults and €17 for kids. Before your arrival at the park you need to complete the Waiver, which is emailed to you after you complete your online booking. To participate you need to be aged 7 or over, and at least 110cm tall, for the aqua park. The park is a 20 minute drive from Brittas Bay Holiday Village and it's advisable to arrive 30 minutes early to get checked in and get your wristbands, wetsuit, helmet and buoyancy aids on. Sessions include a 10-minute safety briefing and 50 minutes on the water. 3mm ‘shorty’ wetsuits are provided, but you can bring your own wetsuit if you wish. You’ll need togs to wear under wetsuits and towels for changing. Another unique outdoor adventure park located in County Wicklow is Clara Lara Fun Park. It provides a healthy and creative fun day out for families and groups of children. Cara Lara is located on 30 acres of beautiful countryside in the Avonmore River valley with tree houses, Tarzan swings, rope bridges, rowing boats, water slides, rafts, canoes and junior go-carts. The lakes are all man made with a flat gravel bottom and approximately 2 feet deep. You will love the breath-taking aqua shuttle - the biggest water slide in Ireland. Other activities include mini golf, miles of hill walking through the spectacular countryside and a junior playground. There is a picnic restaurant which services a range of hot and cold food and an extensive riverside picnic area with barbecues. Clara Lara Fun Park is the ultimate escape to the wilderness. The city of Dublin is 70km accessible on the M11 motorway with ease, or you can travel by train from Wicklow town and enjoy a day shopping or visiting the major visitor attractions of the capital city.
