This attractive stone cottage is ideal for couples looking for a fantastic base to enjoy the delights of Grange-over-Sands and The Lake District National Park. Chestnut Cottage offers a welcoming environment and is very well equipped with everything you'll need for a relaxed and memorable stay. The ground floor features an open-plan living space with wood burner, exposed beams, slate floor and a dining area for two. There's a TV with Amazon Fire Stick for cosy nights in by the fire, watching your favourite films. The 'country cottage' style kitchen with breakfast bar is accessed directly from the lounge/diner and offers all you need for a comfortable stay. Upstairs there is an inviting bedroom with a kingsize bed, an abundance of fitted storage and a dressing table. The exposed beam adds character to this charming space. You can even capture a view of Morecambe Bay from here. The bathroom is spacious and in keeping with the country cottage. Down a further flight of stairs is a utility room with a washing machine for added convenience.
Outside boasts a hot tub, nicely tucked away to the side of the property for added privacy. There is an enclosed front garden and patio area with garden bench to sit and enjoy warm sunny evenings, perhaps with a glass of your favourite tipple.
Grange-over-Sands is a Jewel on the Bay. You will find natural beauty, relaxation and old-fashioned friendliness in this Edwardian town. Take a stroll on the promenade, a level walkway along the edge of Morecambe Bay with its delightful gardens, wonderful wildlife and stunning views across the bay. During the summer months visit the recreation ground to play tennis, putting or table tennis, or why not try the crazy golf.
See the ducks on the pond in the ornamental gardens, visit Park Road Gardens with its bandstand (summer season of band concerts on Sundays) and Sensory Garden. Look for the recently restored rockery gardens at the top of Yewbarrow, above the community orchard.
If you like shopping, take a look at the unique and award-winning shops. Treat yourself to lunch or afternoon tea in one of the many cafes and tea rooms, and more recently, Costa Coffee. For the more adventurous, take a walk to the top of Hampsfell for the 360° panoramic view. Grange-over-Sands is also the perfect base for exploring South Lakeland and Furness, only a few minutes' drive away are top attractions such as Cartmel village, Holker Hall, Fell Foot Park, Levens Hall and Gardens and the ever popular Bowness-on-Windermere.
