Travel Purpose: business

Positive: I liked the bed, which was comfortable. There was also a wardrobe to hang my work shirts.

Negative: Unfortunately, this place really needs to improve. It was a short notice booking, the host rang me implying I'd made some error in booking it so I had to assert that the room was available for booking on this platform a la booking hotel rooms. I arrived and checked myself in to find electrics sticking out of the wall in the hallway, and a light stuck on in the bedroom that the host needed to turn off with a remote control when she arrived. The door was scraping the tiles so is loud in the morning opening and closing. The bathroom was grubby and dirty, the wash basin extremely slow to drain - probably half blocked, the shower not very good. What annoyed me the most is that I had intended doing some work and getting to bed around 10 or 11, but there were people working at the house for a few hours until 10pm-ish, drilling walls and needing to work in my room. I left my stuff and sat in my car instead to try get some peace. I was offered a bottle of water which felt very calculated. I returned to try go to bed and listened to the kids being shouted at until late. The blinds in the room were not capable of keeping the early sun out, I had been asked to park outside under the tree on the grass outside the house as the driveway was full, I knew the car would get filthy with bird droppings and this is exactly what greeted me on exit. An experience best forgotten, as an experienced host myself I don't think properties like this should be on the platform.

Summary: Pretty horrible.
