Travel Purpose: business

Positive: I spent just over 2 weeks here and enjoyed my time in the city thanks to having such a nice base to come back to. The apartment itself was exactly as the pictures showcased it. A cozy little apartment equipped with almost everything one needed. The interiors were clean, and cozy. The surroundings are quiet and you can even see a fox or two hanging out in the garden in the evening. There is also an amazing bakery nearby called Hart and Lova, I recommend the almond pain au chocolat. Access to the flat is easy but be warned that it does require going up 1 flight of slightly narrow stairs. The windows also do not open fully due to a stopper, but the fix is to simply use the provided Allen key to remove the stoppers as mentioned in another review. Abbey Road is part of Camden which means following their garbage rules, and garbage collection on Wednesday mornings. The location is a bit out of Central, being in zone 2, but it is well connected. There are 2 underground stations within a 10 minute walk, 1 overground station within 5 minutes, as well as a bus stop right outside the flat. The overground station has the Lioness line which connects directly to Euston. The closest underground station is Kilburn which is Bakerloo, followed by West Hampstead which is Jubilee. The bus stop right outside the apartment heads to West Hampstead. There is a small Sainsbury Local about 2 minutes away, but I used the much bigger Waitrose on Finchley Road more. The kitchen is almost fully equipped (more below), the water pressure in the shower was good. The bed was a bit soft but fine. The host was on top of communication and very willing to improve the experience at the flat. Improvements I've noticed from previous reviews include complementary coffee/tea, as well as a fan. I would love to book this apartment again.

Negative: Nothing I mention in this section affected my stay beyond dropping it from perfect to lovely. The kitchen is almost fully equipped. By which I mean it was missing just a few things that I ended up having to buy in order to truly cook. There are enough pots, pans, and cutlery, but there were no lids and no food containers to store things in the fridge with. I did end up buying some from Ikea and I have left those in the apartment for future guests. The apartment was also missing measuring spoons or a kitchen scale. I have left behind some cling wrap and aluminium foil as only parchment paper was available. There was salt and pepper provided but no cooking oil, and I ended up buying some nice avocado oil and evoo. There was no food waste bin so I just had a packet on the floor I would throw every night. The stove is a little anemic in getting started, but fine otherwise. The washer dryer is sadly miserable if you use the dryer as it spews lint onto your clothes and into the air; I went through 2 Ikea lint rollers getting lint out of my clothes and off the furniture. I suggest only using the washer and then the included clothes rack for drying instead of the dryer function. The bathroom did not have any clothes hooks to hang clothes while showering. There was also no place to put my soap, shampoo, and such while showering; it simply went on the shower cubicle floor. I did mention that this could easily be resolved with some wall hooks and a simple shower stand to the host and he assured me it would be added for future guests.
