To the north-west, the traditional seaside resort of Tywyn (7.5 miles) has a charming promenade as well as a cinema and narrow-gauge steam railway. Heading inland, the historic market town of Machynlleth (8.5 miles) is known as the ‘Gateway to Snowdonia’. The town is the home of the Museum of Modern Art and makes a great starting point for walking routes into the stunning Snowdonia National Park.
