The cottage is in the Rosses between Crolly and Dungloe and boasts the most beautiful rugged scenery on the west coast of County Donegal. The area has around 130 lakes and rivers stocked with salmon and trout. The nearest village for shopping, restaurant and a pub is only 5 minutes away in Loughanure, and the award winning "Danny Minnies" restaurant is only 10 minutes away. The main town is Dungloe ,which host the international Mary from Dungloe Festival ,from the last weekend in July to the first weekend in August, is only 10 minutes away.
The local landscape is stunning and attracts visitors from all over the world with the opportunity to marvel at the natural beauty of the Poison Glen, Errigal and Dunlewey area on one side, which has an outdoor activities centre, including horseriding, for children and adults alike, and the breath-taking Wild Atlantic Way coastline on the other. Errigal - or in IrishAireagal, meaning 'oratory' or 'small church' - is located within a 25 minute drive. Its majestic appearance belies its modest height (751m) for the highest mountain in Donegal which is among the most climbed.
There are literally dozens of beaches with golden sands and pristine waters within a short drive. There is a wealth of activitiesfor adult, children and the outdoor enthusiast from hillwalking, Island-hopping, canoeing, surfing, sea fishing and boat trips, there are activities to suit all ages and abilities.
