The lodge was originally built as a hunting lodge for The Countess Mataxa of Connemara. There is a variety of activities to choose from - take a stroll down the driveway and spend the day fishing on Lough Corrib, golf at the local 18 hole golf course or walk the illustrious Western Way through some of the most glorious and unspoiled scenery in Europe. Take your picnic basket and explore majestic Connemara where so many personalities including King Edward V11, Maharaja Jam Sahib, Sir William Wilde, his son Oscar and William Butler Yeates were inspired by the mystical beauty of this extraordinary landscape.
